Sherri portrait

Sherri James Buxton is an elegant interpreter of a wide range of genres from standards and show tunes to jazz, delighting audiences with her warmth, depth, versatility and flawless technique.

She combines a lifelong love of melody and lyric with a highly skilled voice and beautiful stage presence. Once you’ve heard a Sherri Buxton performance of a song, you’ve heard that song’s definitive interpretation.

Sherri has appeared on and off Broadway and in numerous New York cabarets. As a recording artist for RCA, she recorded “Sweet Talkin’ Guy”.

Nightclub and cabaret credits include The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA, where she received standing ovations, The Ansonia Hotel’s Continental Baths and Playstreet in New York City. She performed with Freddie Prinz and Jackie Mason at the NY and Chicago Playboy Clubs and Rodney Dangerfield at his NY Club.

Sherri is a master teacher who has inspired the development of a whole generation of cabaret singers and performers in the Berkshires.

“On Thursday evening, you could have traveled to any big city or any small town in America and you would not have seen a show better than the one presented at the Colonial Theatre by Sherri James Buxton and friends. The sold-out audience witnessed a performance by our own “Berkshire star” Sherri.

Thank you Sherri and all for a “Grand Night for Singing.”
